About the event

“The ‘No’ Show” features Dana Daniels portraying a clueless theatre janitor who is drafted into the show to cover for the missing performers.  As pianist and master of ceremonies Richard Allen opens the show with a lively ragtime tune, Dana anxiously informs him that none of the acts have shown up.  In a desperate need to “save the show,” he convinces Daniels to perform all the acts, including “Waldo the Magnificent,” whose every trick goes awry and “Francois the French Juggler, who juggles a bowling ball with just about anything borrowed from the audience.  Daniels closes the show by bringing out “Luigi the Psychic Parrot in a Banana Tree,” attempting to prove to the audience that his little green friend is truly clairvoyant.  Together, they perform such miracles as reading the mind of a person on a cell phone and turning an audience member’s $100 bill into bird seed. “There is no show like ‘The No Show,’ because no show in the world is designed around the magic, juggling, and the broad comic characterizations of the brilliant Dana Daniels,” says James Gruessing, artistic director for the Norris Center for the Performing Arts.  “He brings to the stage years of performing skills encompassing magic, juggling and improvisation wrapped up with impeccable comic timing.”
